the races are 100x better in person than on tv ( by the way jamie and i were on SPEED TV last year). we have it on dvd lol
the ride down is about 3 hours and its a good little ride. lovers leap
was awesome with fresh blacktop.. we could even take rt311 all the way
down to roanoke and hit rt220 to martinsville...
by the way you will be able to go in the pits with each ticket
and meet some of the riders and get autographs. you can even ride your
bike 1 lap around the track for $10...
you can also cage down if you don't want to ride and they also have camping at the track...

Fans Can Win Cash, Prizes at Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals Fan Party
Alton, Va. (July 14) – The party of the year for motorcycle racing enthusiasts will take place on Friday night, August 18, at VIRginia International Raceway. The annual Fan Party for the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals will be bigger and better than ever, with cash and other valuable prizes available to be won among other attractions.
The party will get underway at 5:30 pm, located at the Speed Channel Mobile Theater in the paddock. There will be a DJ playing all the latest hot music, free Red Bull and water for everyone, plus umbrella girls and many of the top riders in the sport, including former World Champions, who will be available for autographs.
Event promoters M1 Entertainment have really upped the ante this year, and there is a mind-boggling variety of prizes to be won by lucky fans. Ten fans will be able to win $100 cash prizes in a raffle drawing. There will be a number of signed helmets available to win: one from Arai signed by Moto GP and AMA Superbike stars, plus former World Champions; one signed by Suzuki Superbike stars Mat Mladin and Ben Spies; and one signed by Yamaha Supersport and Superstock star Jamie Hacking. Plus there will be cool gear available to be won by Speed Channel, Moto 1 and Joe Rocket, as well as motorcycle art prints from the renowned artist Tim Berry.
In addition to all the give-aways, Speed Channel celebrities Ralph Sheheen and Dave Sadowski will man the microphones for a question-and-answer session with the series' top riders, and there will be a special stunt show by Jason Britton and Eric Hoenshell of Team No Limit Extreme.
To cap off the evening, there will be a special showing of the new Moto GP movie, “The Doctor, the Texas Tornado and the Kentucky Kid” on the Jumbotron screens.
“We're really going all out for the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals Fan Party this year,” said M1 Entertainment president Cameron Gray. “The fans are the ones who make all this possible, and we wanted to give something back in return for their great support. The riders, Team No Limit Extreme and Speed Channel, plus great vendors like Suzuki, Red Bull, Arai, Tim Berry and Joe Rocket, have been fantastic in supporting this event, and we guarantee people will be talking about this party for a long time. We will add some more extras between now and the race weekend, but we wanted to get the word out now that this will be something extra-special for the fans this year at the Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals.”
VIR general manager Josh Lief said, “Cameron Gray and M1 Entertainment continue to set the standard in event promotion, and we're really looking forward to this year's Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals. With so much packed into a three-day weekend, this event represents the best possible value for the fans' money. The Fan Party is a great way for our spectators to get up close and personal with the biggest stars in the sport, and a number of lucky fans will go home with some very valuable prizes. We can't wait to get the party started!”
The Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals, August 18-20, offers a variety of ticket packages designed to fit every budget, including standard general-admissions tickets, Big Kahuna Super Tickets, Big Dog Hospitality Passes, Little Dog Hospitality Passes, Pit Walk Passes, car parking passes and camping passes.
All current military personnel will receive a 30-percent discount and free parking with a copy of a current military ID (advance) or by presenting their ID card at the gate. Similarly, college students will be eligible for a 15-percent discount with a copy of a current college ID (advance) or by presenting their ID card at the gate. Groups of 20 or more will also be eligible for a 15-percent discount, providing the order is paid for with one credit card. Discounts do not apply to Trackside VIP Suite and Big Kahuna Super Tickets, or to Big Dog Hospitality Passes or Pit Walk Passes.
Children aged 12 and under will receive free admission, provided they are accompanied by a paid adult, but must have a Little Dog Hospitality Pass to enter the Big Dog Hospitality area.
Advance ticket sales will end at 5:00 pm on August 14. Tickets ordered too late to mail will be able to be picked up at Will Call at the track.
To purchase tickets, visit www.m1event.com or www.gettix.net .

Matt hasn't dropped the tickets off to me yet. We will be staying ta the Days Inn Yanceyville, NC and we are riding down...
this is a great time. you will learn a new respect for the riders. tv
doesn't do the speed justice... you will be blown away when you see
them going down the track at 180+mph..
we have some pcis from last years race on the wvst page i took about 500 pics last year and about 2 hours of video.. lol
i hope you can join us. you won't regret it at all..

That's great news! I would like to go, but I have to work Fri night. So for me it would be a ride down there Sat morning, would like to crash in your all's motel room and head back Sunday anytime (I'm off Monday). Might be a good way to sell the Boxercup?
Ride nekkid. wvsporttouring rocks! How I feel trying to figure out the forum settings ====>
