08-06-2006, 4:35 PM gsxrjeffro Joined on 01-20-2006 Shady Spring, WV Posts 485 Re: sunday 8-6-06 well i done something hadn't done since my last wreck in 2002.. i went on a long solo ride. 280+ miles today. it was a perfect day up in the high country. the temps were in the upper 70's in marlinton and in the 60's at the top of snowshoe. they paved the twisties just north of marlinton from about 1/2 up all the way down the other side past the scenic hwy turnoff. its going to be sweet in a few weeks. today was the last day for the IBF world championships. the place was packed. i had a pizza at cheat mtn pizza and i ate it all except for 1/2 a slice and a couple chunks of crust left. they had the freedomfest shirts marked down from $24 to $14 so i got kylie one. then headed back home. i went back down 219 and took the scenic hwy. i went 70-75 the hole way. it made the trip across much better. it also looks like they are getting ready to pave between richwood and nette on rt39. they also paved rt20 between nette and rainelle. a person can get in trouble fast on that section. i was just taking my sweet ol time and every time i looked down i was doing 70+ in 45 and 55 mph zones. i guess i just ride faster alone. i hit the road at 9:15 and was on top of snowshoe by 11:30. i hung around three for about 1.5 hours and i was still home by 3:30.. I would have liked to have gone but I had to stay and tear 3 holes in my wall from the danged curtain rod...... Taking my tire to United first thing in the morning. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to mention how they are not going to get my valve adjustment work.....if they can't get a tire mounted right (and this isn't the first time I know of) then that doesn't put much faith in their other work. Ward at united cycle. i'm sure we are not the only two people that are having these problems..  our best two acura techs told me not to worry about the valves unless they are ticking after the bikes warm.
